$8000 for buying an Atlanta home?

Well yes, if you meet certain conditions, then you will be eligible to recieve up to an $8000 tax credit as a result of the stimulus package that was recently signed into law. In order to qualify for this tax credit you must not have owned a home in the past 24 months.

- This applies to personal residences purchased between 1/1/09 and 12/1/09

- This credit can be claimed on your 2008 tax refund

- The tax credit is available to single taxpayers with incomes up to $75,000 and married couples with incomes up to $150,000

- The tax credit is yours to keep...unless you sell your home within three years. In that case, you would have to pay it back.
